Nate McWhortor has been a member of the Bulldog Baseball family for over a decade. McWhortor was a three-year letterman playing pitcher and catcher for the Bulldogs from 2006-2009 under head coach Jim Scappaticci. In 2009, at the age of 18, McWhortor began coaching for the Bulldogs, coaching Bulldog Baseball summer teams for two seasons during his early college years. Following college, he left the state of Arizona to work in Minor and Major League Baseball within the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves organizations. In January of 2015, McWhortor returned home, accepting a position as the assistant varsity baseball coach, a position he held for three seasons until being hired as the head varsity baseball coach in October of 2017.
