Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Recap of Westside Invitational


On Saturday, Goldwater Track & Field competed at the Westside Invitational at Deer Valley High School.  Nine athletes recorded personal bests in their respective events, three athletes placed top 8, and the boys 4X400m relay team ran a season best time to finish 8th.

 

Personal Records:

Boys –

Cody Sutaris, 800m, 2:13

John Jacklin, 3200m, 10:35

Trake-Allen Pedigo, 110m hurdles, 20.12

300m hurdles, 43.59

Seth Marshall, shot put, 28’0”

Rascheed Sterling Jr., high jump, 5’7”

Kenny Neil, triple jump, 35’6″

 

Girls –

Alexis Lafuente, 400m, 1:05

Luci Atchison, discus, 76’11”

 

3 Bulldogs scored points for the team.  Misael Colon-Torres placed 3rd overall in the boys pole vault, John Jacklin placed 6th overall in the 3200m, and Trake-Allen Pedigo finished 7th in the 300m hurdles after qualifying for finals in the event.

 

The boys 4X400m relay team of Misael Colon-Torres, Kenny Neil, Luis Martinez-Lugo, and Cody Sutaris improved on their season best once again.  The team placed 8th overall and 2nd in their heat to Boulder Creek. In the final leg, Sutaris out-kicked the fellow anchors from Mountain Ridge, Lake Havasu and Dysart to move into scoring position.
