Bulldogs Baseball entered their final regular season game at Agua Fria on Thursday night with one goal in mind: win and we’re in. That’s exactly what the Bulldogs would go on to do.
Junior Kyele Roe got the nod for the Bulldogs and shined during his 6.2 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits, walking 5 and striking out 6. Roe allowed two Owls to cross the plate in the first, and was stellar up until he ran out of gas (and pitches) in the seventh. Junior Brandon Keith managed to get the one out save with bases loaded in the seventh.
At the plate it was the top of the Bulldogs order, once again, doing damage. Keith finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored, Roe had a 2 for 4 day with a run knocked in. Bryce Hainline posted a 2 for 3 mark with a run scored and an RBI, the RBI coming in the first when he ripped a triple down the first base line to score Keith.
The win kept the Bulldogs in the top 24 rankings for the 5A conference and a spot in a play-in game on Wednesday April 24th at Apollo. First pitch is 4pm.
